Alperton Community School is an exceptional school who are proud to be an inclusive comprehensive school with a student intake that reflects a wonderfully diverse and vibrant local community.
We were invited by the Art & Textiles teacher Andria Zafirakou from Alperton Community School who has been named as the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2018, awarded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
On 13th June, at 8.30am, the Exhibition Bus entered the gates of the Alperton Community School’s car park within the school complex. To make the most of the exhibition in the Bus, the school organised to show the entire video in their respective classrooms before bringing each class at a time to experience the exhibition throughout our stay. Our on-board educator introduced the Exhibition to each group. ‘Post cards’ to the Soldiers were distributed and encouraged to go home and visit the India1914 website as a family to thank and remember the sacrifice of the Indian solders and the entire generation the lived throughout the first great world war.
